This will of course most easily relate to the digital industry, but we hope to broaden the focus to other areas. We want our speakers and attendees to share tools across our fields, both for improving your own flow but also for understanding other area of expertise in the product process.
We want to invite not only developers but, project managers, marketing professionals, sales people, and many others. Anyone with passion about their products!
Statoil’s "Ambition to Action" model:
Bjarte Bogsnes has a long international career, both in Finance and HR, and has been heading up the implementation of Beyond Budgeting at Statoil. Bjarte is Chairman of Beyond Budgeting Round Table (BBRT). He is a popular international business speaker and is the winner of a Harvard Business Review/McKinsey Management Innovation award. He is the author of "Implementing Beyond Budgeting - Unlocking the Performance Potential", where he writes about his implementation experiences. The 2nd edition is just out. Statoil has recently opened up for Bjarte to undertake select external consulting work.
When you have no operational permit, no customers and the very building you are operating in falls in - most organisations give up. Not so with the Salvation Army hospital in Bandung Indonesia - they decided to try to save the hospital and I was very fortunate to help them in their journey.
Me?! A lean/agile coach. A westerner with little to no knowledge in hospital management and operation.
We started to apply the principles of kanban and in doing so turned the hospital around into something amazing. Transforming not only the organisation but also some lives among the people in the staff.
While working with the hospital in this way I gained deeper insight and knowledge about what the principles of lean and kanban means and how they can be applied to make us more and more effective. And save us from disaster too...
During the years I have been moving around quite a bit. I started my career as a developer but soon got to be leader for the teams I was in. This got me to look into finding ways to become more effective as a team.
I’m very quick to get excited over new things and this reflects in my posts that ranges over a lot of different subjects, tools and technologies.
The underlying theme of it all is agile lean and it’s practical usage in the situations I find myself in.
The market keeps talking about cultural change, that will help us be better at what we do. We have Scrum, teal organizations, holacracy, sociocracy, NVC and all other similar concepts.
But is there anything all of those organizations have in common? It's good business.
Let me introduce you to companies who changed their business and their culture followed. It is said that a good Product Owner can shape Scrum in a team, but not the other way around.
Let's take a closer look at this phenomenon!
A mentor, consultant, change advocate.
Founded Brass Willow and along with a group of experienced consultants changes the way organizations work and products are developed on polish market.
Works mainly with high and middle management, but has extensive Scrum Master experience and hopes that one day she will go back to being one.
Let’s take a compassionate look at the parallels between how people and organizations develop and the typical challenges we face.
Human relationship is both beautiful and challenging and while we may prefer to associate with people we agree with, inevitably we bump into others with different opinions, especially in larger organizations.
But what if the binary way of viewing the world conceals a deeper truth?
What if all conflict is simply a symptom of wisdom seeking emergence into consciousness?
In essence, all polarisation between people occurs due to misunderstanding and/or disagreement. Bring hundreds or thousands of people together, add a power hierarchy on top trying to manage complexity and things can get very messy indeed!
Come and explore practices that build engagement and collaboration, help reduce waste and free people up to create value, regardless of complexity and scale.
Together we can grow happy and productive organizations, but it takes compassion, understanding and ongoing investment into learning how.
I spend my time travelling internationally providing organizational development consultancy, learning facilitation and mentoring for people wishing to evolve collaborative, adaptive organizations at scale.
With 15 years inquiry and practice in the fields of holistic organizational development, facilitative leadership and personal and relational transformation across a variety of sectors - from corporations, to non-profits, children and communities - I’m an advocate of life-long-(un)learning and practices for more conscious collaboration.
My current focus in on helping others to learn about Sociocracy 3.0 (S3) and working with organizations who wish to evolve organizational agility through pulling in patterns from S3.
In addition to our usual conference we offer optional add-ons of intimate and interactive workshops with our keynote speakers Bjarte Bogsnes and Marcus Hammarberg.
One major impediment many organisations face when trying to become agile is traditional management and budgeting that often drives waterfall behaviour.
Beyond Budgeting is a set of values and principles for a different kind of leadership and management that is much more compatible with agile values and principles.
In this class you will get an overview of Beyond Budgeting from the one with probably the best knowledge and experience of Beyond Budgeting, as he has been heading up two major implementations and been actively involved in the community since its start.
Beyond Budgeting is implemented by several Swedish companies, including Handelsbanken (the pioneer!), Ahlsell, Höganas, Akademiska Hus and Consilium.
Workshop learning goals:
Beyond Budgeting - the adaptive management model
The Statoil story - the "Ambition to Action" model;
This workshop will teach you the foundations of kanban in a very practical and entertaining way. Kanban can help you improve your process to more effectively deliver value - no matter what process you are working with now, or how good you are in doing it.
Kanban is just a few basic principles and practices - but the implications of them is hugely powerful, and can change not only your team but in the long run help and improve the entire organisation around you. You will learn how to discover, little by little, how to improve your ways of working to something better than you could imagine, through the evolutionary approach to process improvements.
Kanban is "just" our guide - not a framework that tells you details on how and what. For this reason much of the content of the workshop will be driven by your needs, questions and context. This is better than me giving you a rigid framework that most likely will not suit your praticular need.
Come with an open mind and any kind of process - leave with practical tips, know-how and ideas that will help you improve. Tomorrow, and forever!"
